An important distinction between appointments and classes are that appointments (or appointment types) function largely as placeholders for classes. You create appointment types (for example, Beginning Piano, Chipping and Putting, Mani-Pedi) and then use these appointment types to set up scheduled classes or to create a class on the Scheduling window on the fly.
